Loch Kinord Islands TO813011jhp Loch Kinord Deeside Scotland viewpoint crannog island prehistoric manmade Aberdeenshire lying beneath Hill of Morven and located to the north of North Deeside Road mid way the River Dee valley between Aboyne and Ballater. Nearby the loch is the Burn O'Vat an impressive gorge with visitors centre and public toilets with a viewpoint of the Loch from which this photo was taken. There are two islands, one had a Castle constructed on it while the other is a Crannog, a prehistoric man made island. Osprey can sometimes be seen fishing in the tranquil waters of this SSSI. This photograph was taken in 2004 using my first digital SLR, a Fuji S2 Pro with telephoto lens.
