Auchenblae Howe Mearns Aberdeenshire Scotland northwards fields crops wheat oats above the road that links Auchenblae in the Mearns with the main B974 Cairn O’Mount road opposite the Clatterin Brig restaurant. In this direction north eastwards the road skirts to the south of the Drumtochty and Fetteresso Forests reaching Stonehaven via Kirktown of Fetteresso. The Cairn road passes St Palladius Church and Drumtochty Castle in Glen Drumtochty which has interesting Forest Enterprise walks through mixed mature woodland and after leaving the forest the road enters Strathfinella passing this delightful loch near Glensaugh, used for fishing and often visited by ducks and swans.
