It is a ruin although Prince Charles has recently suggested restoring it which has a sad history of family feuds between Gordon of Knock, the builder of the present tower, whose family was killed in one day and he dropped down dead at the hands of the ‘Black’ Forbes of Strath Girnock who was later killed by Gordon of Abergeldie who inherited the castle and it fell into disrepair.
