It has a notable rare representation of the famous Cleopatra, some beautiful carvings and is relatively unscathed by the ravages of time, desecration and being dismantled for building materials. This photo is of the enclosure wall to the east of the main temple showing the scale and construction methods of the ancient egyptian builders with an example of pan bedding, the sloping land contour alignment of the brick layers.

This photo is of paving blocks on the limestone foundation platform on outside of the rear wall of the main temple adjacent to the sacred lake and small temple of Isis. The blocks were strengthened by the use of dovetail cemented joints.

This photo is of reliefs on outside of the west wall of the main temple adjacent to sanatorium and shows poosibly a centre tube that would have been filled with mortar giving additional structure to the foundation wall.

 Court Pylons Wall Reliefs Karnak Temple doorway eighth pylon Roy-Rome priests on the walls in the Court between the seventh and eighth pylons around the doorway into the staircase on the east wing of the Eighth Pylon. On the door lintel are mirror versions of the same person, Roy-Rome, a long serving High Priest to Amun with arms raised in praise but to where a cartouche, now hacked out, would have been. The figures on the right are two priests in linen robes, one of Roy-Rome, the other his son Beknekhonsu offering praise is an extensive area of text which refers to Seti 11.  Aberdeen City Bridge Don River Spring Daffodils Bridge riverbank estuary to the north of the city and the road bridge over the River Don viewed over spring colour at Donmouth on the main road north of the City into North East Scotland. The Bridge of Don is a rapidly expanding area north of the River Don with the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre bringing many attractions to the City and it is adjacent to the Balgownie Golf Course which is a famous links course by the North Sea. This photograph was taken in 2002 the last year I used slide film, either 35mm or 645 as my main medium for landscape photography. They are still representative of the City despite their age and is chosen because of the lovely light and colours as it can still be on the right day.

Part of the City of Aberdeen, this northern area around the University was also a separate burgh and the focus for the oldest part of the city and especially its links with the University and the religious centre with St Machar's Cathedral Kirk nearby. This photograph was taken in 2002 the last year I used slide film, either 35mm or 645 as my main medium for landscape photography. They are still representative of the City despite their age and is chosen because of the lovely light and colours as it can still be on the right day although it has been more recently cleaned.

It is also offers a very scenic route southwards over the Cairn O’Mount to Mearns. The river is a famous salmon fishing water which flows from the Cairngorms eastwards into the North Sea at Aberdeen.

The building dates from the 16th century although the land belonged to the Burnett’s of Leys as a gift from Robert the Bruce in 1323. In the great hall is the Horn of Leys, supposedly a symbol of this grant. The tower house is one of the finest examples of the period and some of the original wall paintings still survive.

The road passes St Palladius Church and Drumtochty Castle in Glen Drumtochty which has interesting Forest Enterprise walks through mixed mature woodland and after leaving the forest the road enters Strath Finella passing this delightful loch near Glensaugh, used for fishing and often visited by ducks and swans.

It is located on the Banks of the River Dee in the community of Crathie mid-way between the towns of Ballater and Braemar on the A93. Lochnagar, the fourth highest mountain in Britain lies to the south of the estate and its distinct shape can be seen on the horizon line.
The estate and building are private belonging to Her Majesty the Queen and although open to the public for certain times of the year are not public property.
