Aboyne River Dee Boat Inn hotel riverside summer Deeside Aberdeenshire Scotland viewed from the road bridge crossing the river to the south of this mid Deeside town lying between Aberdeen and Braemar on the River Dee on Royal Deeside. A popular tourist stopover with shops, restaurants, hotels and two golf courses is busy throughout the summer months with long established Highland Games and a recent and very successful Arts Festival based around a thriving Community Centre and Theatre. Crossing the River takes you onto the South Deeside Road, either east to Potarch turn or on through Ballogie, over Corsedardar to Finzean and Feughside. Westwards takes you via the Bridge of Ess and passed the Glen Tanar entrance to Dinnet and onto Ballater.
