 St Mary's Church Auchindoir interior tomb lid boars Gordon arms Aberdeenshire summer Scotland ruin romantic is reached by taking first left turning after Lumsden on road to Rhynie and Huntly in North East Aberdeenshire near Morayshire. This is inside the church next to the elaborately carved Sacrament House now protected by a clear awning is this carved tombstone lid bearing the Gordon Coat of Arms. This 13th Century building was later remodelled in 16th century, with a fine elaborately carved and detailed Scottish medieval door and inside it has a very beautiful sacrament house on the inside, styled like a monstrance and inserted in a lancet window. The backdrop is the spectacular Craig Burn Den or gorge with large woodland of mature beech trees.
