Medinet Habu Temple aerial view balloon West bank Nile Egypt Thebes Luxor located on the West Bank of the River Nile at Luxor and a complex of temples is now dominated by the mortuary temple of Ramasses 111. Apart from being in excellent condition generally, it offers much to see including some beautiful and detailed reliefs, the best coloured are in the second court and especially its scale. Not usually included in most standard tour packages, this temple is worth the effort to be visited privately. This was taken in 1994 on my first trip to Egypt and was the view from a balloon flight over the West Bank. This is looking towards the River Nile in the upper section of this photograph shrouded in early morning mist and to the left of centre is the main entrance road to the West Bank passing the Colossi of Memnon
