Khonsu Temple Pylon Front Gate Outside Column Sphinxes Bases Avenue located to the south-west of the Karnak complex with the start of an avenue of ram headed sphinxes which went to the entrance of nearby Mut precinct. The temple is worth a visit as it is usually free of crowds, is well preserved and is adjacent to a nicely decorated Temple of Opet, a Goddess hippopotamus deity who assisted women in childbearing. Karnak Temple is located near Luxor City centre on the East Bank of the River Nile and it the largest religious complex on the Nile.
