Edfu Pylon Gods EG052251JHP Edfu Temple Pylon Face Ancient Egyptian Ptolemaic Hathor Horus Gods Carvings viewed from the south with the two prime god of the site, Hathor and falcon God Horus wearing the Double Crown or pschent of Unification of Upper and Lower Egypt at this location by the River Nile and is one of the main visits for most Luxor to Aswan cruise packages. One of the best preserved temples in Egypt this one is dedicated to the falcon God Horus and his granite likeness is probably one of the most photographed relicts in Egypt. Originally erected by Senwosret 1 it is mainly supplanted by the current Ptolemaic creation dating from 237BC, this particular part being started 116-71BC along with the present pylon.
