River Spey Estuary Bay Beach Stones Pebbles Sand Patterns Shapes Scattered enters the Moray Firth near the villages of Garmouth and Kingston, small fishing hamlets amongst the shingle banks of this Morayshire north coast. Garmouth has the historical link with the landing of Charles 11 in 1650. The shingle banks along the mouth of the Spey are ever changing owing to longshore drift with the constant threat of the river outlet being closed and the area is known for salmon netting at the Tugnet spit as well extensive bird life.
