The buildings in this photograph are known affectionately as “ Education, Salvation and Damnation” three classical Aberdeen silver granite buildings facing Rosemount Viaduct off a grand backdrop – the City Library, St Mark’s domed Church and HM Theatre now of course with its very modern addition of box office and restaurant. This view of from the steps at the War Memorial in front of Cowdray Hall by the silver grey granite statue of a lion alongside the Art Gallery on Schoolhill.
