El Ashmunein Basilica & Quern 6230EG07JHP Ancient Egyptian al Ashmunayn Broken Quern Roman Christian Basilica Ptolemaic Temple built with material from an earlier Ptolemaic temple. Most notable are the remaining granite columns still standing and are the best preserved in Egypt of this style of monument. This is situated outside the enclosure walls of the Temple of Thoth part of the ancient capital of Unu, Khmunu or the Greek Hermopolis Magna now known as el Ashmunein.
