 Aberdeenshire Maryculter broom dyke Altries Kirk ruin Free United Scotland trees set in the beautiful rural landscape of North East Scotland south of the River Dee and in hinterland hardly any distance from the centre of the City of Aberdeen and the Oil Capital of Europe and very near the proposed arterial pass by beginning to take shape to the west of the City. The Kirk now in ruins dates from the late 1700’s, becoming a Free Church in 1843, United Free in 1900 and later Church of Scotland as Maryculter Altries Parish Kirk in 1929 but was disbanded in 1935. It lies to the east of the B979, south of the NDR to Netherley by the Crynoch Burn after taking the Burnside turn off.
