River Don July Keig oak trees framed branches tunnel upstream Scotland Donside Aberdeenshire in North East Scotland looking upstream westwards in the general direction of Keig and towards Strathdon and the Bridge of Alford or looking downstream where the river passes below Castle Forbes which can be seen up on top of the hill to the lefthand side. Although this is the summer of the long summer heat and sunshine the North East of Scotland was lucky to get some rain, unlike England, but the river is low and there are signs of river algae and the riverside reeds seem to have grown more.
