Banff Royal Burgh is located at the estuary of the River Deveron crossed by a beautiful seven arched bridge and is town with a history dating back to the 12th century and was granted a charter by Robert the Bruce in the 14th Century. Once a thriving herring fishing port it is now a quiet town catering more to tourism with an excellent golf course at Duff House and has several sandy beaches.
