Heliopolis Ancient Egyptian Coffin Lid Carved Figure Sarcopgagus Museum site photo north of Cairo is the oldest standing obelisk in Egypt at the site of the temple of Re-Atum although little is left of this once important sun cult centre and dating from around 1970BC at the beginning of the 12th Dynasty.
