 Mearns rural view westwards Aberdeenshire Banff Hill fertile plain Scotland summer cereal crops looking towards Fetteresso Forest and the distant outline of Kerloch Hill which overlooks Deeside. At the northern end of Howe of Mearns which is a central part low lying flat fertile farmland in the centre of an area stretching from the south of Stonehaven to the Tay Estuary. This view is from Banff Hill looking over the rolling countryside on the road from Inverbervie to Whitefield and Townhead crossing the Bervie water and taking the right hand road to Arbuthnott, left to Fourdon and down onto the A94 main trunk road south from Aberdeen.
