Qurna West Bank EG075682JHP Remnants Bulldozed Removed Houses Dwellings Luxor Egypt Old Qurna Village, looking northwards towards the River Nile, interspersed with the Tombs of the Nobles is undergoing a major modernisation programme with the houses being removed, occupants relocated and the entrances to the various tombs made more accessible. Obviously a programme without some pain and opposition especially from locals who have lived in the area and over the tombs for generations but part of the necessary management and control of these irreplaceable ancient sites and the artefacts contained therein.
