This particular exhibit is one of a few from the Tomb of King Tutankamun discovered by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings and shows model funerary barks intended to transport his soul from his tomb to Abydos and an important exhibit is in the museum proper and was taken in 1996 when you could pay to take photographs but not use a tripod, now not allowed at all, and I used Kodak 5042 Tungsten Slide film which still meant hand holding was at the extremes of useful photography in low light conditions. River Lossie Tree WTN1999JHP Elgin Cathedral Riverbank Lossie Tree Spring Daffs Moray Scotland Photo was founded in 1224 although a substantial ruin now cared for by Historic Scotland remains one of the most beautiful medieval buildings in Scotland and viewed here from the spring flora on the banks of the River Lossie. The transepts with their buttressed west towers and parts of the tall choir and nave date from the fire of 1270 but subsequent destruction especially by the Wolf of Badenoch in 1390 and later further destruction and neglect after the Reformation means we will never see this building in its true majesty. Brodie Walled Garden UP280335JHP Brodie Castle Walled Garden Forres Nairn Morayshire Scottish Highlands is home of the Brodie family, the castle perhaps dates back as far as 1160 and came under attack from Montrose’s army but survived. Many additions were made subsequently and the collections of various items are extensive and of high quality. This became a National Trust for Scotland property in 1980 and is situated about 4.5 miles west of Forres and the grounds are open to the public all the year round.
