About Crooktree Images

Recently developed with the assistance of ‘theimagefile’, this library will offer for sale the reproduction rights to the photographs of Jim Henderson. Mainly offered on a Rights Managed basis they cover the range of his work since the early 90’s from 35 slide and 645 transparency stock through to his Fuji and Nikon DSLR work since 2003. Older scanned stock is generally timeless e.g. beautiful sunsets or landscapes that have not changed over the passage of time.

The library is in three distinct Galleries:– Scotland, in the main the North East of Scotland; the Aurora Borealis, a unique and extensive collection of photographs selected from over 350 displays taken in North East Scotland since 1989 and Egypt, concentrating on the sites of antiquity from Alexandria to Abu Simbel accumulated over ten visits since 1994. Owing to increasing restrictions, many of the early photographs e.g. interiors of the Cairo Museum and Great Pyramid are no longer possible to the ordinary visitor.

Within the Scotland and Egypt galleries will be further galleries under main themes, although for those specific photographs, they can be found by using the Search tool.

A print arrangement is not offered but prints can be supplied as can specific usage arrangements such as exclusive rather than the licensed and royal free options – please use the email contact facilities to discuss and for prices. Over the next few months this collection with expand in range of themes covered and the depth of coverage will expand for many sites but should specific subjects be required please contact the photographer.

 

 

 

About Jim Henderson -  Photographer

Born in Torphins, Aberdeenshire and living on Royal Deeside, he is a professional landscape photographer running a BAPLA stock library since the early 90’s until 2010. He became a free lance self-employed photographer in 1986 supplementing his love of landscape photography working as a press photographer for a number of years, offering general commercial and fine-art services as well. Formerly an Associate of the Master Photographer’s Association and the Royal Photographic Society, he remains a member of the Association of Historical and Fine Art Photographers.

He has been published as an author/photographer in a number of titles – Alan Sutton Publishing Photographers’ Britain series with the title ‘Grampian’ in 1992, Egyptian Holiday 1995, The Aurora – An Introduction for Photographers & Observers 1997 and Scenery of The Dee 2000 under Crooktree Images and most recently two titles for Aberdeen Journals: Aberdeen – A Celebration in Pictures 2003 and Aberdeenshire and Royal Deeside 2004. His photographs appear regularly in magazine articles, book covers, in calendars and postcards and commercial brochures.

His main effort now is the development of Crooktree.com, his own online library although still contributing to other independent stock libraries: Alamy, Collections and StockphotoPro.
