Aswan Nubian Museum Glassware EG052960JHP Aswan Egyptian Nubian Museum example of glassblowing and design from Nubia in this modern building whose foundations were laid in 1986, opened in 1997 and organised through UNESCO. Very low artificial light makes general photography difficult as well as affecting accurate colour balance. This now appears to be the only museum in Egypt where photography is still allowed although it is not easy as the ambient lighting is extremely subdued for conservation reasons. It is another enjoyable walk returning to the south of the Lodge and skirting round the top of Loch Muick, returning to the Spital Carpark via the Blackburn. The Spital is also the starting off point for the walk to Lochnagar Mountain via the Gelder and Saddle.
