It has a notable rare representation of the famous Cleopatra, some beautiful carvings and is relatively unscathed by the ravages of time, desecration and being dismantled for building materials. This photo is of reliefs on outside of the rear wall of the small temple of Isis with a freize of netcher figures, seated Gods and above a series of Hathor faces and atributed to the Emperor Augustus. Merneptah Temple Exhibit EG053336JHP Temple Merneptah Egyptian Pharaoh Cartouche Painted Netcher God Relief Photograph who reigned around 1212-1202BC, is on the West Bank of the Nile at Luxor and was recently opened not long before these photos were taken in 2005. It is a mixture of open air and covered museum exhibits with some remains of the temple area with column bases. Some of the coloured wall reliefs are exquisite and because of the natural light available were easily photographed despite being inside. There is also a replica of the famous Israeli Stele, the original being in the Cairo Museum. This is a visit that would have to made outwith the usual West Bank package tour although easily arranged and is easily found next to the Ramasseum. Saqqara Carving EG051145jhp Saqqara Unas deep cut hieroglyphs carving ancient Egyptian netcher flax that can be seen in small chapels near the restored causeway from the Pyramid of Unas near the Step Pyramid and which slopes down to the Valley Temple first seen as visitors arrive at this major complex near Memphis. Recent archaeological work has discovered tombs underneath the causeway such as that of the Two Brothers while many other undiscovered or partially excavated ones lie alongside the causeway as do boat pits.
