River Dee Balmoral 199631jhp
River Dee Royal Deeside Balmoral estate summer roadside Lochnagar mountain located in Aberdeenshire Scotland and viewed by the North Deeside Road from the roadside near to Balmoral Castle where this famous salmon fishing river passes amongst the trees. Looking westwards in the direction of Lochnagar, Scotland’s fourth highest mountain, its distinctive outline above the forest to left of centre horizon line. The road continues westwards towards Inver, Invercauld and eventually Braemar. This photograph was taken in 2002 the last year I used slide film, either 35mm or 645 as my main medium for landscape photography. It is still representative of the general countryside despite their age and is chosen because of the lovely light and colours as it can still be on the right day.
