This road coming from Keig to the west passes through the Lord’s Throat at its western end and winds down the south side of Bennachie and the north side of the River Don. Near these viewpoint is the Cothiemuir Recumbent Stone Circle and nearby the Cothiemuir Hill Natural Burial Ground. The road eventually passes a Forestry Enterprise carpark called Donview with public walks in the Paradise Woods before joining the Monymusk to Chapel of Garioch road and it one of the most picturesque parts of the River with the added attraction of some wonderful autumnal colour displays throughout this stretch.
